Comments: I stayed in Thierry's "Studio Marais" for ten days 27 Oct
thru 6 Nov 07. Thierry came highly recommended thru two popular paris
"blogs" - and when I got in touch initially, I was impressed with his
promptness in replying...each and every time! I loved this darling
little apt. It perfectly suited my needs...and the area completely
resonated for me as well. What a charming area it is! Lively, great
energy, creative, and eclectic. Right next door was a little grocery
market I frequented as well as the wonderful patisserie on the corner.
Across from that is a charming little square lined with bistros and
cafes. Their is some amazing shopping to be found on the surrounding
streets - but then again, is there a street in Paris without amazing
shopping???!! The proximity to the Seine was a huge plus for me. I just
loved taking my walks at night over to Hotel De Ville (gorgeous
building) and Notre Dame or perhaps the I'l St. Louis or I'l de la
Cite' - or walking up to the Pont Neuf or Pont des Arts bridge and
watching the Eiffel Tour all lit up in it's amazing glory. Ahhh...how I
miss it! I would not hesitate for one second to rent thru Thierry and
his companies again!

Thierry's Place des Vosges apartment, in the Marais. It was like a home
away from home, right in the heart of this fascinating area. The
apartment is perfectly located for museums, restaurants, metro etc and
is exceptionally well furnished with all the appliances and information
a guest might need, all in english for those not fluent in french.
Having been out of touch with friends and family for some weeks, the
internet connection included in the tariff was a blessing! The
apartment was spotless on our arrival and it seemed as if our every
possible requirement had already been imagined and provided. Thank you,

Comments: We stayed at Victor Hugo apartment from the 28th September
till the 8th october 2007. Its a lovely apartment with a Romantic feel
to it.It is of a great size and lovely antique style decor which is
very elegant. It has all the mod cons- washer/dryer, dishwasher and
TV(but who has time for TV in paris!!). The bed is super-comfy and
sheets nice and soft. The kitchen had all we needed to make some lovely
dinners during our stay using fresh produce. There was an elevator in
the building and it was a security beuilding so we felt safe for all
out belongings while we were away from the apartment. Its in a great
area with the Centre Pompidou just around the corner (and the metro
Rambuteau)as well as some lovely cafes and creperie and boulangerie,
bookshop..the list goes on! There is also a G20 supermarket around the
corner which has most of what you'll need. When we stayed here we felt
very much "at home" and would recommend this apartment to anyone
interested in staying in a great part of Paris. And would stay here
again when Paris becomes our destination again. Thanks Thierry who was
also very helpful via e-mail prior to arrival and with all the bookings
and advice.

hardly needed to take the Metro at all as many of the places we wanted
to visit were just a short walk away. We also really appreciated that

Comments: My daughter and I just returned home from a month stay in the Place des Vosges apartment. It was wonderful!
The apartment is in a great location - close to shops, cafes, a bakery, the metro, a bus stop, restaurants, etc.
Everything necessary was waiting for us! The kitchen was perfect with a
coffeemaker and coffee, a microwave and stove top, a refrigerator, and
a washer/dryer.
We especially appreciated the loft area for the bed which left the
floor space open for living. It made the apartment seem larger.
Having a computer in the apartment made all the difference in the
world! We were able to stay in touch with friends and family, store
pictures on a website, check "horaires" of museums and attractions, get
maps, check the weather forecast, and take care of personal business
and bills.
Thierry came to the apartment right after our arrival and showed us how
everything operated, made sure we had what we needed, and was available
either by phone or email if we needed to contact him. Thierry was very
friendly and helpful - the perfect host!
In short, the apartment is EXACTLY as represented in the pictures on
the website. It is convenient, rather roomy, clean, modern, pleasantly
decorated, and became our home away from home immediately.
I highly recommend this apartment and I assume his other properties are
equally wonderful. When I return to Paris, I will certainly stay in one
of Thierry's apartments!

about the unknowns. We stayed for only one week (which is much too
short of a stay) and Vicky made us comfortable right from the start
with a little walking tour of the immediate area. The apartment was
very clean, quiet and comfortable. A wonderful place to end a day of

There are several superb restaurants within footsteps and a wonderful
cheese shop just below (I took home several sealed packages of
marvelous cheeses and jams) The apartment is newly remodeled,
beautifully decorated, and has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. It
is very quiet, private, and was a great place to rest, read and relax
between trips to museums, restaurants and the park. I took the stairs
for exercise and energy efficiency; but it has a nice elevator for
carrying bags up and down or for moments when a little lift is needed.
Vicky is very helpful, straightforward and very responsive to questions

Comments: STUDIO MARAIS – a wonderful experience I’ll be repeating next year!
I could not possibly have been more satisfied than I was with my three
week stay in Studio Marais during May 2007 – indeed I was so
satisfied that I have already booked the apartment for may of 2008!
The landlord, Thierry, is young, intelligent, energetic and clearly
dedicated to ensuring his guests an outstanding experience. To cite one
example: when I arrived early from the airport I found he was
personally cleaning the apartment because the cleaning lady was not
available.
The apartment consists of one large room with a kitchen along one wall,
and a separate bathroom with stall shower, washing machine, sink and
toilet, the bathroom being ventilated by its own window. The apartment
is totally cut off from street noise because it is on a courtyard, but
its three large windows and the size of that courtyard mean that it is
not in the least bit dark.
The walls of the apartment are decorated with modern prints, and the
simple, natural finish furniture goes well with the apartment’s
look, which is contemporary but not aggressively so. The furniture
consists of three chairs, a table, a queen size (or maybe king size)
bed, a bedside table, a table for the computer, and a large closet.
Equipment includes a TV with built in DVD player (though I suspect U.S.
DVD’s wouldn’t play because of the different French TV
format and because of different DVD “regional coding”,
though I can’t be certain of this as I brought no DVD’s
with me), a stereo and a computer. The computer has a U.S. keyboard,
the importance of which will be appreciated by anyone who has gone half
mad trying to use a French keyboard due to its several pairs of
transposed letters (a and q for example) and the fact that on a French
keyboard the numerals are upper and the symbols lower case. And of
course there is all the difference in the world between being able to
check your e-mail from your temporary home than from having to go out
to a commercial internet access establishment. With his typical spirit
of helpfulness, Thierry at my request set the computer so that with a
couple of clicks I could get straight to Yahoo mail.
The kitchenette has a two-burner electric stove, microwave oven,
refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. It is amply
equipped with crockery and cutlery. For those who wish to do their own
cooking, there is a large self-service supermarket literally in the
same building, so those who don’t know French can supply their
needs with ease.
A sole word of caution: the apartment is on the 4th floor (U.S.
numbering; 3rd floor UK/Continental numbering). but has no elevator. If
a person thinks he would have difficulty with that many steps, he
should inquire of Thierry about apartments with elevators or lower
down. The neighborhood literally couldn’t be more ideal.
The apartment is in the Marais, one of Paris’s oldest
neighborhoods, with eighteenth century buildings and narrow streets. At
the same time, in recent years it has become “trendy” so it
is full of shops and places to eat. For instance the street the
apartment is on begins with a leafy little square surrounded by
cafés and restaurants.
Only three blocks from the apartment is an entrance to the Hôtel
de Ville métro stop which is on Line 1, which runs west to the
Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Champs Élysées, Arc de
Triomphe and La Défense, and east to the Place de la Bastille
(with the new opera house) and the Gare de Lyon train station. The next
stop on Line 1 to the west of Hôtel de Ville is Châtelet,
where an additional three métro lines meet, as well as the RER
commuter line to Charles de Gaulle airport.
You can be at the banks of the Seine in about five minutes on foot from
the apartment, and at the foot of the Boulevard Saint Michel in
fifteen. So Right Bank, Left Bank – you’ve got it all
within reach while being surrounded with a charming neighborhood.
I’ll conclude where I started: I can give no stronger testimonial
of my satisfaction with ParisBestLodge, Thierry, or the Studio Marais
than the fact that I have booked the latter for all of May 2008.

We returned two days ago from a twelve day stay in Studio St. Germain.
Ooh La La.... It was a perfect space for us; computer/internet,
washer/dryer, cook tops and refrigerator gave us the opportunity to
bring home groceries, wine, water and of course, fabulous breads and
pastries.
The apartent is a convenient walk to The Louvre, D'Orsay and Orangerie
Museums. We also took a leisurely walk to Notre Dame and I ventured out
on my own one day to Ile St. Louis to boutique shop. The metro we used
most was Odeon, although after a few of our ventures, Mabillon was more
convenient.
There are many restaurants and bars in the area. One night, we were so
tired from our day adventures, that we brought in pizza from Cesare's,
around the corner on rue Mazarine.
The area was hopping on Saturday when the art galleries (and you are in the center of the gallery area) were open later hours.
The apartment, up three narrow flights of steps, is well-equipped for a
home away from home. Although we had our own travel books for Paris,
the books in the apartment gave us some more information to make our
stay more complete. Thanks so very much, Thierry. We appreciate your
hospitality.

location and neighborhood could not be better. When we arrived, I
bought coffee, milk, jam, yogurt, and cheese at the Supermarket next
door. Then every morning, while my wife was still in bed, I would get
up, go two blocks to the tabac to get newspapers and then to the
boulangerie around the corner from the studio to buy a still warm
baguette. I would make coffee in the apartment and we would greet each

Comments: Our trip to Paris and our stay at the apartment Bourg-Tibourg
was simply perfect. We were in heaven. We have recommended it to all of
our friends, many of which are planning trips to Paris in the next
year. We told them they simply MUST stay at one of your flats (of
course, we think nothing could be better than the Bourg-Tibourg). Even
though the pictures online are great, they can't do justice to the warm
colours and real beauty of the apartment. You have to see it for
yourself!
First of all, the apartment itself is so lovely. It is cozy, serene,
warm, spacious and romantic, while at the same time being amazingly
functional and clean. Every time we would return to the apartment, it
felt like we were coming home. Thank you for that wonderful feeling!
From the kitchen (with a refrigerator, toaster, microwave, 2 stovetop
elements, kettle, coffee maker, dishwasher and beautiful sink) which
was fully stocked with everything we could need (dishes, flatware, wine
glasses, coffee, tea, dish soap, paper towels, salt and pepper, etc.)
to the luxurious bathroom (gorgeous colour scheme, best shower we've
ever used – like a rainfall, blow dryer, deluxe towel-warmer
– and a generous supply of towels, and all the toiletries we
would need, it was amazing, and so clean!) everything was outstanding.
The bed was extremely comfortable and very large, the blankets were
cozy and warm and we also LOVED the amount of closet space. It meant we
could hide our big suitcases away and not live out of them!
We also loved the little balcony – we'll come back and stay when
the weather is warm so that we can actually sit out at the pretty
little table and enjoy our tea or wine without freezing!
We felt very safe and secure staying there, and the system you use for
tenants to pick up the keys is perfect. On the subject of keys, it was
brilliant of you to provide two sets – it meant my partner and I
could enjoy our own alone time in Paris without worrying about meeting
times or being locked out of our apartment waiting for the other!
It was a delight to be able to enjoy such a wide range of French (and
English) television, and the flat screen TV was quite a treat. On the
topic of technology, it is absolutely FANSTASIC that unlimited
high-speed internet is included, and the computer itself is provided
(it meant I didn't have to lug my laptop overseas or worry about it
being stolen). The computer was new and fast, and it helped us to plan
out our daily activities (i.e. look up hours, movie times, maps, etc.)
and keep in touch with family and friends at home.
The local phone calls being included was another wonderful aspect of
staying at your flat. And knowing that you were just on the other end
of a phone call in case something went wrong was very reassuring. Thank
you for being so responsible to and caring towards your guests. It
could have been unnerving, staying in a strange apartment in a strange
city, but knowing we had a contact "just in case" took that worry away.
And, we didn't need to call you at all because everything was so
perfect!
It was very thoughtful of you to provide a little library of Paris
guide books too. We looked through many of them to help us decide on
activities we didn't want to miss!
The location of the Bourg-Tibourg was perfect. There is a grocery store
right across the street and two of the yummiest boulangeries (bakeries)
in Paris right on our block! There are many, many, many cafes and
bistros within a two-block radius, and lots of great boutiques as well!
We picked up a couple of very neat, colourful espresso sets at a fun
little store around the corner. There are two incredible gourmet
chocolate shops on the block as well as the Mariage Freres tea store
and restaurant. It's about a five-minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral,
about 15 minutes to the Louvre. We only took the Metro twice because
this apartment is in such a fantastic central location!
This is a stellar apartment, and you, Thierry are an incredibly sweet,
hardworking and genuinely caring man. Thank you for making our first
trip to Paris unforgettable.
We look forward to staying at the Bourg-Tibourg again as soon as we
can! If anyone would like to contact me to ask any questions about our
stay or about the apartment, please let them know I would be more than
happy to hear from them.
Yours,

Comments: We are Mr and Mrs Ian Baker from Western Australia, who
rented the appartment at 25 Rue de Bourg Tibourg for a week's holiday
in September, 2006. We are very happy to provide this summary of our
experience, which was most favourable - giving us the basis for a
memorable visit to Paris.
We found the arrangements to access the flat to be easy, with the RER
train from Paris CDG Airport taking us to Chatelet station nearby. The
appartment owner, Thierry, met us promptly to explain the operation of
the numerous modern fittings and appliances, including setting up the
computer for our email. Thierry continued to be available by telephone
throughout the week to help us with other information, and our
departure at the end was also easy.
The appartment we consider to be quiet and private, although just a few
metres from the vibrant streets of the Marais, and close to the
bustling Rue de Rivoli. The space is compact and cosy but very well
planned, with all modern conveniences and its own private little
balcony - a great spot for coffee or a glass of wine. Numerous
attractive sources of food and drinks are available nearby - from the
most exclusive ( L'Ambroisie in the Place des Vosges ) to modest
bistrots or boulangeries or wine merchants.
But for us, being great walkers, perhaps the best feature of the
appartment is its location within range of many of the best sights and
experiences Paris has to offer.A complete list would be too long, but
amongst those we enjoyed most were the Louvre, the river and its
islands, Notre Dame, Place des Vosges (simply beautiful ), the
Bastille, the little streets and shops of the Marais, and the wonderful
museums like Carnavalet and the Picasso. For longer excursions, the
Metro nearby is of course easy and efficient.
We reccommend Appartment Bourg Tibourg to prospective tennants, and
hope ourselves to rent it again during a future visit to Paris.

What an amazing stay in a beautiful part of Paris! We could not have
been happier with the 2 weeks we spent in the St Germain apartment and
the fantastic surrounding area. The flat is all that is promised and
more.
Thierry is an absolute gentleman, so kind and welcoming on our arrival
and left wonderful information available to us, on the computer, the
various guide books and in a small letter we found in the apartment,
letting us know of everything from events that were happening and how
to work the washing machine to the salon where they have the best hot
chocolate! We asked for an extra key, the next day it was there, just
as he said he would do.
It was so nice to be able to buy and cook food in such a cozy
environment. Often, during a long hotel stay, it's so easy to get fed
up of constant restaurant food and it was nice to have the choice. The
kitchen is very well equipped and you can whip up quite a gourmet meal
with ingredents from the markets and shops, all within 2-5 mins of the
front door - if you have any cooking know-how!
This wasn't our first time in Paris, but we felt it was our first time
'living' there. Next time we travel to our favourite city, we hope that
Thierry has an apartment available because our experience was so great.
I cannot recommend Paris Best Lodge enough.
Wishing Happy Holidays to Thierry and his family! Till next time!

Thierry's studio apartments this being our third visit. The Studio
Mazarine, like all of his other apartments, is completely furnished
with all the comforts and amenities of home (in a smaller scale) that
you can just settle in and feel at home plus the added plus of a lift.
Having unlimited use of the Internet allowed us to keep in contact with
our family at home. The location is perfect with all your shopping

We will undoubtedly stay once again at one of Thierry's apartments at
our next visit to the City of Lights. You did it again, Thierry!!!

Comments: We stayed in Vicky's apartment for one week on November 2006.
Having Vicky as our host was wonderful. I am not just saying this just
because, she IS really special. When she says, everything is in the
apartment, she means it! There were so many details she thought that we
might need, she put it there. Coffee, tea, aliminium foil, brita filter
for water, etc!! These are in addition to the staples that you expect.
Even a rope that we used for tying up the baggage! We were simply
amazed at the things she thought we might need that, it quickly became
a game to find out what else she thought of!! She is very helpful and
will make your stay much more enjoyable. The apartment itself was
great. Very clean, very comfortable bed. Much more space than any room
you will get in a hotel for the same price range. The location is
superb. Being that close to 2-3 metro/RER stops enabled us to quickly
stop by 'home' and drop our stuff, take a rest and go on with our
sightseeing. Seriosusly, the only thing we needed was toothpaste and a
couple of clothes, that is it. Very convenient. There is also this
fromagerie (chese shop right next to the apartment, they sell fresh
eggs, cheese, all the freshest dairy you can think of. There is also a
bakery shop and vine shop and quite a few number of great cafes and
restaurants within a 1 minute walk.
Also, with apartment renting, there is a leap of faith on both sides.
My experience with Vicky was great, wonderful transaction, no problems
at all. Please feel free to e mail if you have would like to hear any
more tips and would like to hear more about our stay in the wonderful
La Coupule!

the Studio le Marais, a charming, comfortable, clean hide-away during
our 12 days in Paris. Just four or five blocks from the Seine and about
the same distance to the Metro at the Hotel de Ville, this cozy
apartment is a gateway to the city. Yet it's on a seculded street in
neighborhood of restaurants, cafes, wine bars, bakeries, a handy
grocery store, etc. We were within walking distance of Notre Dame
Cathedral, several major museums and a number of Metro stations. The
apartment was everyting Thierry said it would be at the rate he quoted,
with no unpleasant surprises. He's a nice man you can trust. We'll stay

Comments: We are Paris-philes of long standing, so it was a real treat
to experience living in a section that is new for us --- the area of
Montaparnasse where the artists and literati congregated so many years
ago. The experience was enhanced by staying in an apartment that may
have been inhabited once by Modigliani! (We just saw the movie
biography of him a few months ago, which enhanced every one of the 60
or 72 steps [depending on whether you stop in the living area or the
bedroom].)
The apartment was very well appointed, with everything one might want
for a comfortable stay (including WiFi, if you bring your own laptop).
Vicky and Pascal were gracious and solicitous hosts.
The neighborhood gave one access to all of the food and entertainment
facilities that one could want. We were happy to find a branch of
Franprix for groceries and the bistro Parnasse 138 for a local dinner
that was delightful in food, service, and price. Having the Luxemburg
Gardens so close was also very special!
And, of course, the entire Left Bank is at your feet, if you are
willing to walk off a few of the calories you add on at Parnasse :-)

we had hoped for. We loved the apartment...it was comfortable, well
equipped, clean, quiet(overlooking the courtyard), and authentically
Parisien. Having high-speed internet was a requirement for us and being
able to just bring our laptops and hook them to the router and the
internet from the apartment was great.
The location of the apartment was very central and close to everything.
There are many bakeries close by and we especially enjoyed the one at
the intersection of bd Montparnasse and bd Raspail. Right across from
the apartment is also this grocery store which came in very handy for
food, drinks, and any other little necessities like toothpaste and a
toothbrush (which I had forgotten to bring with me).
The apartment's proximity to 3 metro lines was another
advantage...because we used the metro extensively and even bought
ourselves a card orange (a weekly metro pass). We also loved walking to
the nearby Luxenbourg Gardens and resting our feet, taking a snooze,
reading our books, or just watching the people there.
Lastly thanks to Pascal for giving us a tour of the area and explaining
how everything works in the apartment. We're already talking about our
next vacation to Paris and looking forward to staying at La Coupole
once again.

The location of the apartment couldn't have been better! The area is so
nice with plenty of shops and restaurants very close by, as well as a
twice weekly market just five minutes away. And as it's so close to the
nearest Metro station (a few minutes walk) the rest of Paris is within
very easy access.
The apartment itself is very comfortable, well equipped and clean.
This was our second trip to Paris, so we had already done most of the
key tourist attractions. However, we would recommend a visit to the
Catacombs, which are within walking distance of the apartment (make
sure you wear sensible footwear for the walk through).
The twice weekly market is well worth a visit. We ate out most nights;
we found the best value was at the Parnasse 138 restaurant. We enjoyed
the Odessa Bar, which was a favourite place for us to stop for a drink
and watch the world go by (they serve a good selection of beers and
excellent ice creams!).
Thanks again for making us feel so welcome (Pascal's tour of the
apartment and the area was very useful) and for making our visit to
Paris so enjoyable. We enjoyed staying in the apartment very much and
when we return to Paris in the future we hope that La Coupole will be

aucune hésitation l'appartement La Verrerie: propre,
confortable, bien situé, tranquille.

was absolutely great!! The location and the comfort of the apartment
couldn´t be better. I really had a great time and have to thank
Thierry because he was helpful whenever I had a problem. Another thing
that made my stay in Paris wonderful was the fact that I had Internet

Paris. Thierry was friendly and very prompt returning messages and
clear about procedures. I was impressed with the website and found the
information very helpful. Our apartment near the Place des Voges felt
like a nice home away from home for our 10 days there. I came with my
college son and my sister to visit a daughter who is studying in Paris
for the year. My other daughter also joined us part of the time. The
price was more reasonable than 2 hotel rooms would have been and it was
great to have internet to keep in touch (my husband was in Japan), a
place to fix some food and relax over morning coffee, and the ability
to do laundry (although took much longer than American machines). Both
the sofa bed and loft bed were very comfortable and the boulangerie
nearby was delightful. We had a great meal at Cafe Baci a block away,
and also enjoyed the Provencal restaurant, Chez Janou, nearby. We used
the metro which was convenient and visited several of the interesting
museums nearby. Staying in this apartment was defintely a positive
experience. Thank you, Thierry.

to stumble across the Paris Best Lodge website. From the moment of my
first enquiry I found them to be extremely helpful and attentive.
I enjoyed a truly authentic Parisian stay in a well appointed and
comfortable studio in the heart of Le Marais. With world class
patissieres, boulangeries and restaurants at my doorstep and Notre Dame
a short walk away I was guaranteed an unforgettable stay in the city of
lights.
What added to my experience was that the owner Eric was completely
charming and genuinely interested in ensuring that I enjoyed my stay in
Paris.
A hotel will never be able to provide a tourist with such a close
connection to the Parisian way of life which is why I have no
hesitation in recommending Paris Best Lodge to anyone seeking to
experience Paris at its best.

spent in Studio Mazarine, where the lovely, warm decor and all the
amenities made up for a chilly, rainy Paris! We've been coming to Paris
for over 45 years, and this is our first time renting from Paris Best
Lodge, and over the Internet. We are converts, and have already
reserved for 2007! Every aspect of the studio was as described on the
web site-very comfortable queen-size bed, kitchenette that let us eat
in, a great TV where we watched the Olympics in Turino, a most useful
washer-dryer, and best of all--a computer with American keyboard that
allowed us to keep in touch with friends & family by e-mail. This
feature alone will make us return to Thierry's apartments, and we've
already recommended him to friends and family. Bravo, Thierry, et a la

Comments: My wife and I had a wonderful week in Paris, staying in the
small appartment near Place des Vosges on Rue Turenne. The place was
bright (just as shown on the website pics), quiet (you'll always have
the typical street traffic), no noise from neighbors, toasty warm in
January. The bus stop is at the apartment door! Most
convenient...direct to Notre Dame etc in minutes. Metro just 2 blocks
or so away.
The Marais is a great place to spend an extended stay in Paris.
Wonderful choices for restaurants nearby, great variety and very
economical to the most dear. Interesting shopping and streets.
Convenient to transportation.
The apartment had a wonderfully comfortable bed in the loft, nice
linens and the computer and high-speed internet made it simple to
investigate bus lines, museum info, and restaurants. Roomy bathroom,
shower only.
Thierry took great care of us and gave us great advise on the area.
Great bakery, patesserie 100 steps away (open at 7 am), so we saved $'s
on breakfast, had great pastry and concentrated on the mid-day meal.
Place des Vosges is a wonderful place to sit, picnick (though not
everyday in January) and watch the flow of people. It's 1/2 block away.
We picked our apartment from the net based on Theirry's web-site info
(which was honest and representative), out of the blue, but were very
happy and hope to return one day.
Thanks, Theirry,

very habit forming. I know having been unable to break the habit for a

Comments: have been back from Paris for a week now and I wanted to let
everyone know that I loved the apartment i rented!
I rented from parisbestlodge.com and really liked the experience. First
of all, Thierry who runs parisbestlodge.com is a great host and very
friendly. He answered all my questions and gave me great directions.
Once I arrived and was let into the unit, he stopped by to collect the
money and show me around. He is a very honest man..
Second, the apartment was my little home away from home. The price I
paid was lower than a hotel with more amenities and lots of space. The
apartment had a washer/dryer, kitchenette, big bathroom, CD player, TV
with VCR and a lot of little extras like CD's and guidebooks.
The apartment was very cute and had a comfortable bed, leather love
seat and 2 chairs. The view out the 2 French doors was over the
rooftops and within view of the top of St Pauls church. The bed was
real comfortable and had good sheets, duvet and fluffy pillows. I also
love the old beamed ceilings.
I especially love the location on the rue Rivoli right at the St Paul
metro station. Right across the street was a "supermarche",
boulangerie, wine shop, cheese shop, chinese take away and more! There
are also a bunch of good bistros and wine bars in the area. The Marais
is really a fun neighborhood and really make you feel like you are a
resident of Paris.
There is a real good representation on their websight of the apartment
but if anyone has any questions, let me know!
P.S. Don't get to excited about the washer/dryer. It was a good thing
to have but a load of wash took over 2 hours. The unit is a combo
washer and dryer so you can do a second load until you finish drying
the first. Its not like a US washer and dryer! My clothes always came
out terriblIy wrinkled but a spray with a water bottle (that I bought)
and a good ironing helped!

Comments: I have had the pleasure to stay in two of the apartments on
the Paris Best Lodge site in the past year. Last April (2005), I
visited Paris with a friend for two weeks, and we stayed in the
apartment La Verrerie. Joel was a most gracious, hospitable and
accommodating host. And the apartment was just as described and served
our needs perfectly, with a separate bedroom for my friend, and the
perfectly appointed kitchen to allow us to have breakfast before
venturing out into the City.
When I was making plans to return to Paris for a couple of weeks in
January of 2006 with my partner to see Mylène Farmer in concert,
I knew that I would again want to stay in a Paris Best Lodge apartment
due to such a positive experience a few months before. Unfortunately,
La Verrerie was not available during the dates of my visit, but instead
I was able to stay in Les Rosiers. Both apartments are in the same
general area, and the location was, as it was with La Verrerie,
perfectly situated for access to the métro, shops, and easy
walking distance to the centre of the city. The apartment is quite
light and airy feeling. And the kitchen worked out well enough to have
a private chef help us prepare a five course meal one night.
In both instances, the comfort, location and maintenance of the
apartments allowed us to feel as if we were "living" in Paris for a
couple of weeks rather than simply visiting. And Thierry was the ever
charming and available host that helped to make the stay as easy and
pleasant as possible.
Upon my next visit, I will indoubtedly be staying in a Paris Best Lodge
apartment again.
Thank you Joel (from April), and thank you Thierry (from January).
A bientôt...

pleased with it. The location is excellent (right next to the metro,
five minute walk to Luxembourg gardens) and the loft itself was very
spacious, in excellent condition, with great traditional views of Paris
rooftops. As well, Vicky made it exceptionally easy for us to pick up
the keys, and was very relaxed and accomodating in arranging a meeting
to provide her with the rent check. She could not have made it easier
for us.
Considering the price, the excellent quality and spaciousness of the

never stay at a hotel when visiting Paris, but would always rent
through Vicky. I can highly recommend her to anyone.

and absolutely loved every second.
Having your own apartment is fantastic, you can feel like a (partly)
true Parisienne ducking out in the morning to buy your breakfast
baguette. The apartment was situated smack bang in the middle of the
action and there was always something happening around the fountain
outside our window. Fantastic restaurants and bars where a minute's
walk away.
The process of booking and staying at the apartment was completely
smooth and hassle free. I had my reservations at first as I am your
typical cynical and untrusting traveller but I suspended judgement and
luckily everything turned out just perfect. As we were in Paris in peak
season the price was an absolute bargain when compared to the nightly
rate in mid-range (and utterly impersonal) hotels.
We would not hesitate to book an apartment through Paris Best Lodge
again. Here's hoping it's sooner rather than later.

in Studio le Marais on Bourg-Tibourg. The location is perfect - a
lovely, lively neighborhood with a fabulous boulangerie on the corner
that makes the best croissants we've ever tasted, an inexpensive market
next door, an epicerie that makes fresh squeezed orange juice, a very
nice square at the end of the street, the elegant and wonderful Mariage
Freres Salon du The practically next door...and on and on. The
apartment is, at the most, five minutes from the Seine, Ile St. Louis,
& Notre Dame - perfect for those late evening strolls amidst the
beauty of the City of Light.
The apartment itself is delightfully cozy. Two of us were very
comfortable there for the month and never felt cramped. The tenants
were friendly, and one delightful woman even has a cat, Sigmund,
helping to ease our longings for our own pets. We enjoyed conversations
with her almost every day and, we believe, made a friend.

fantastic locations. Innocents is in the 1st arrondissement, looking

Comments: We spent a week at the Verrerie apartment a month or so ago
and had a fabulous time. The apartment is spacious and comfortable,
located in the heart of the Marais, and only a two minute walk to the
Metro, the supermarche, a thousand cafes and restaraunts and the Centre
Georges Pompidou. We spent our evenings in Paris wandering the tiny
meandering streets around the apartment and feeling like 'locals'.
Thierry was so very helpful in organising out accommodation, and Eric
and Joel were absolutely charming hosts. We can't recommend
ParisBestLodge highly enough, and have already suggested to some
friends going to Paris later this year that they should get in touch
with Thierry right away for a stylish and authentic Paris experience!
Thank you.

Comments: I just returned from a two-week stay in the Apartment des
Rosiers. It was wonderful. The apartment is large, clean, comfortable,
quiet, incredibly convenient to shopping, food, the Metro... and it is
on a lovely block in Marais. I couldn't have asked for more. I also
enjoyed use of the high-speed Internet to keep in touch with work and
friends. Knowing Thierry was always available if anything came up made
my visit comfortable as well. I would highly recommend this apartment
to any couple or single person visiting Paris; and since there is a
sofa bed in the living room (the bedroom is a completely separate room)
it'd be great for a couple with a child or even two couples. Thank you
Thierry!

Comments: My family (wife, two college age daughters and one teenager
son) stayed at GRANDE CHAUMIERE apartment for 13 days. This was our
second trip to Paris for me and wife. We enjoyed the stay very much. It
is a very new and clean apt with new everything (furniture, bath &
kitchen). The owner, Vicky, met us when we arrived at the apt from the
airport. When I did not have enough cash to pay for the apt rent due to
the ATM daily limitation, she just told me to bring the rest next day
to her apt. She even brought an extra bed for my son.
My family visited her apt twice and had one long conversation about
France, US and politics with roated chestnuts. What a treat!!! She told
us to where to shop and where to go to eat. She sent me several e-mail
on concerts and Paris information. She was like my own personal travel
agent.
The apt building has old charm character. If you are 4 start hotel
type, do not stay here. However, if you want to experience Paris, this
is the place to stay. Shop at ED market where grocery is cheaper than
US (hard to believe). I and my kids shoped at ED almost everyday to
sample French food and deserts. We even tried French tripe soup.
The Edgar metro station is only one two blocks from the apt. There is
morning farmers market on Saturday and Wed. There are also some shops
selling custome jerwely there for French. My wife and daughters spent a
few hundred dollars since price was very reasonable. You do not pay
tourist price there. We bought light lunch (roasted chiken, pork and
seafood rice, ham, cheese) there and ate at any part bench we could
find in Paris.
We used Grey shuttle (one recommanded by the apt owner) for airport
transportation which was cheaper than hiring two taxes for a family of
5 and 5 big luggages. For return trip to air port, a Mercedes van
showed up with a driver in three piece suite. He told us that the apt
was in an excellent area of the Paris. He also told us that he spend
last four day driving Kim Basinger in Paris for a movie production in
the same van.
I would like to thank Vicky for the excellent stay. If you want to
taste Paris, this apt will get you there.

My husband and I rented the Thorigny apartment in the Marais district
for a week this fall. It was a fabulous location because it allowed us
to walk everywhere, which is of course the best way to see Paris. We
were literally just down the street from the Picasso Museum.
The apartment is on a quiet street just off a major street. This
allowed us to access the restaurants easily, and we loved exploring the
area. Be sure to do the self-guided walking tour of the district.
The apartment itself was terrific, and exactly what we needed after
having spent a week meandering through Italy. It was extremely clean
and well-equipped. We were very grateful for the many guide books that
were available for us to use, also.
Thierry, of course, is an excellent host. He is gracious, available,
and entirely trust-worthy. His correspondence and instructions, prior
to our arrival, were clear and prompt.
We would definitely return and rent one of Thierry's apartments again!

apartment in Montparnasse, which is now our favorite Paris
neighborhood. It's ideally located on a small, quiet street right off
Boulevard Montparnasse. Everything you need to survive in Paris is
within a couple of blocks of the apartment: Metro stops, boulangeries,
brasseries, cafés, several great creperies, cinemas, markets
(especially a great INNO/Monoprix store), and department stores if you
run out of clothes. If you don't have a cell phone, you can easily
purchase a phone card at the Tabac around the corner. Vicky is a great
hostess and the apartment was a clean and cozy home away from home.
We're looking forward to our next trip there, and are recommending La
Coupole to all our friends. (Vicky also showed us her La Grande
Chaumiere apartment a couple of blocks away, which is even more
charming and pleasant.) Thanks again for helping us have the best
vacation ever!

of the charm came from our stay in the Studio Rivoli. The sixth-floor
balconies were perfect places to enjoy some Bordeaux while taking in
spectacular views of St. Paul-St. Louis church and the classic rooftops
of Le Marais. The apartment was furnished with everything we needed and
gave us the added bonus of a washer/dryer. The convenience to the metro

AND we had incredible access to the charming chocolate shop across the

Vicky's apartment was superb in every way. It was quiet, extremely well

Thierry gives excellent personal service, and I think he even arranged

We just got back from a marvelous week in Paris. We stayed at the La
Verrerie apartment, right in the heart of Le Marais, and we couldn't
have been more pleased. Eric (owner of la VERRERIE apartment) was the
kindest person we met all week, and he went out of his way to make us
feel welcome. The apartment is *so* beautiful, and there was nothing
more magical than waking up in the morning and hearing the bells of
Notre Dame -- which was less than a five minute walk away -- chiming in
all their glory.
I loved that the windows overlooked the courtyard, because even when
the streets were busy, it meant that we were isolated from the noise.
There were so many shops to discover in that neighborhood, and a week
wasn't nearly enough! Also, we loved having the metro stop just steps
away from our front door.
Really, this was the perfect trip. Thank you ever so much, Thierry,
because both you and Eric were terrific to work with, and you both
helped make this the most fantastic vacation we've yet taken. We won't
consider using anyone else for our next trip to Paris, and I will be
certain to sing your praises to any friends, family or strangers who
might be considering a Paris apartment rental. Thanks again!

was so convenient. Metro stops Odeon & St Germain, close either
side of the apartment. We were able to walk everywhere (well, within
reason)within a few minutes. Having never been to Paris before, I made
sure I saw alot on this trip. I did use the Metro alot, but walking was
one of the best parts. I was able to see the galleries and the museums
all around our apartment. The architecture along the streets is
georgeous. The Lourvre is 10 minutes away. There are several wonderful
bakeries, markets, wine shops all within a minutes walk. We did our
shopping and prepared meals in the kitchen, which I was surprised was
so well equipped. Thierry is very quick to respond to you if you need
him. Example, I was there 3 days and the computer monitor in our unit
blew out. I called Thierry and he had a new flat panel in our apartment

Comments: It took me so long before putting up my review due to my
hectic schedule and health problem just after returning fr my yearly
holiday to Europe. But here I am...
In the past, I had one of the most amazing job in the world, travelling
and reviewing some of the best hotels in Asia, in particular those in
Bali and Jakarta, when I was with www.asiahotels.com Though, Mr
Thierry's apartments are not classified under hotel or resort, I would
like to give his Place des Vosge apartment a score of 9.5/10 (well,
sorry, Thierry, nobody is perfect!) The place is large and more than
comfortable enough for a single traveller like me, in fact, it can
accomodate up to 4 guests but will be too crowded. The ameneties in the
apartment are perfect - I didn't feel I miss anything. And the massage
shower was really a luxury after a very long walk, though I wish to
have a bath tub. The mattress, pillows and the comforter are much
better than those I found in 4, even 5 star hotels in Paris. Truly one
luxury holiday for me. The free high-speed internet connection was
really helpful as I was working too when in Paris, enable me not to
lose contact with my suppliers and friends back in Asia - and saving me
money fr calling them. I have one comment though, I wish Mr Thierry
provides more DVD with English subtitles coz almost everything on local
and cable TV channels are in French.
The location was excellent, and I can just walk to Notre Dame,
Bastille, and I even walked all the way to Tour Eiffel (well, I
couldn't get a taxi, and it was a very, very, very long walk, but I
love walking in Paris). There are lots of high-end and low-end
restaurants around, plus many boutiques to cater every budget. Those
money I saved on long distance phone calls, there, I spent in those
boutiques.
But the best part of my stay at this apartment in Place des Vosges was
Mr Thierry himself. He is such a kind man, the kindest I have ever met
in Paris so far. He is very sympathetic, full of life and kindness in
him, and very, patient and understanding. That, for me, who has done my
fair share of travelling and reviewing hotels, is extremely priceless.
He made me feel so at home and welcome. And for this, I know that I am
now had a new friend in Paris. And will always stay in one of his
lovely apartment for my yearly trip to Paris.
Thank you, Thierry, for making my 2004 holiday in Paris the most
memorable one. See you very soon.

We just returned from 14 days in Paris where we stayed in Thierry's
Place des Vosges apartment. Cafes, shops, markets, museums and the
Metro were close at hand. The apartment was a great home away from home
for us. The computer was very usefully for downloading pictures as well
as keeping in touch with family. Most of all, Thierry was the perfect
landlord. You can't go wrong with Place des Vosges.

I have traveled to Paris quite a few times and this is my first time
staying in an apartment where I truly felt we were able to experience
the Parisian lifestyle for 10 wonderful days! From our original
contact, you were professional and helped us to make a great choice
with the studio Place des Vosges. We found the apartment exactly like
the pictures only better! The Marais neighborhood is a wonderful and
central location to enjoy a visit to Paris from and you have made it
all so easy and conveinient providing suggestions for supermarkets,
brasseries and activities that we found in the apartment. We were
charmed by the fact that you came over shortly after our arrival to
aquaint us with the appliances, etc. and stock the kitchen with
essentials. Having the phone and computer with unlimited internet
service was great...Knowing that we could call you anytime if needed
but being on our own was just perfect! I will definately recommend
Paris Best Lodge to my friends and can't wait to come back again for a
visit very soon!
Thanks for everything Thierry!

Comments: Hallo!
we just arrived from Paris over Würzburg at home. Let me give you
some notes for visitors from germany.
Erwartet keinen super Luxus. Dafür wird viel Pariser
Lebensgefühl geboten. Die Wohnung liegt in einem absoluten ruhigen
Hinterhof.
So
schön wie im Appartment La Verrerie schläft und wohnt man
dort aber sicher nicht. Wir waren sicher nicht zum letzten mal in Paris
und bei Parisbestlodge.
Thank you and "merci"
Hartmut

Comments: My new bride and I recently spent ten nights in Thierry's
Studio Saint Germain, and it was a wonderful experience! Everything you
need is within easy walking distance. There is a supermarket about one
block away and a great boulangerie (bakery) a block further down Rue
Mazarine. The convenience of having a computer with an internet
connection in the apartment made it easy to find restaurant reviews and
maps (though there are plenty of such books left behind by gracious
former renters) and to communicate back home. The nifty washer/dryer
meant we could pack light to save room for our souvenirs. The apartment
really couldn't have been in a better location with the Louvre,
Museé d'Orsay, Les Invalides, Notre Dame, Ste.-Chapelle and much
more within a few minutes' walk of our front door and the rest easily
accessible from the Metro station nearby. Thank you Thierry for a great
apartment! We had a wonderful time and I'll be happy to provide tips
and recommendations to others considering renting from you.

We are sad we are leaving after 14 wonderful days in Studio Saint
Germain. The apartment was very clean, and had all the amenities needed
for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent, very close to many
of the major Paris sites (not to mention some great places to eat like
Paul's boulangerie).
The close proximity of Studio Mazarine (less than one block) was
wonderful. My sister and brother-in-law met up with us our second week,
and we had a great time in our "home away from home".
We highly recommend your apartments! We can't wait to come back to

We absolutely loved staying the past 2 weeks at Studio Marais. It was
as pictured, very clean, very quiet, and well-laid out.We never felt
cramped.
To echo what realtors say about buying a house, the most important
thing is "location, location, location" and the 4th arrondissement is
just the perfect location. We walked to Notre Dame within minutes.
We loved the area with it's small streets, shops and cafes. We found
"Les Philosophes" cafe (rue du Vieille-du-Temple)especially good.
(check out the restrooms).
We echo what others have noted, you are indeed an excellent host.I
greatly appreciated your getting us the cell phone SIMS card
You have so many nice touches in the apartment---having coffee, paper
products, and soap provided was unexpected. The use of free internet was
essential not only for us but needed for help with family emergency.
We both love Paris and have been several times. We always hope to
return. Whenever we do, we will first contact you.

answered all of them promptly. We decided on Place des Vosges, and when

the evening, bringing coffee and baguettes, and was truly as nice in
person as he was in our email communication. We had the most wonderful
time, cooking dinner for our friends in the apartment, having coffee
every morning and shopping on Rue des Francs Bourgeois. Everything is
accessible, from museums to markets, and there are several cafe's
