The Parisian event of the market of
art is definitively this famous Biennale which rhythm artistic life
since 1962. Year after year, the exhibition acquired an academism which
makes authority internationally. The event comes back inside the
Grand-Palais renovated. During 12 years, it was built in the Carrousel
from Louvre. Now, the Bienniale takes a new breath, completely
supported by the exceptional quality of its exhibitors. All the
periods, all the geographies of art are represented in this transitory
museum, Antiquities, monarchies, Orient, Asia, Ancien Arts, and for the
first time, the contemporary art through more than 7000 invaluable
objects. About fifteen artistic categories are selected, furniture,
jewelry, paintings, illuminations, weapons, Art Déco… through
111 exhibitors who come from 45 different countries. To enhance these
treasures, an exceptional scenography was requested from
François-Joseph Graf, the current decorator of the Museum of
Decorative Arts. Taking as a starting point the the Grand-Palais, he
ordered huge aquarelles of immense panoramas taking again the
decorative elements of the Grand-Palais, in a pure 1900 Art
Nouveau spirit, and made use of it like virtual frontages. In
order to combine all the pleasures of the voyage, each day, the
restaurant of the exhibition will lodge a different and specially
famous chief.
