By
approaching the archaeological adventure in the oldest Afghanistan, the
found (French) Treasury, carrying a
thousand-year-old history, knew to exceed twenty years of war. This
rich person presentation of the collections of the museum of Kabul in
full rebuilding, clarifies four major discoveries: Fulol, Have-Khanoum,
Tillia-Tepe and Begram.
Fulol, echo of the civilization of Bactriane (2500-2000 front J. - C.)
and Have-Khanoum, witness of the hellenism to the doors of the steppe
(IIIe front century J. - C.). As many universally recognized names.
Tillia-Tepe, necropolis wandering at the border of north (Ier front
century J. - C.), astonishes by the luxury and abundance by the
ornaments and richnesses by six preserved remained princely tombs:
crowns, jewels out of gold, encrusted with invaluable stones, Chinese
mirrors, enigmatic etc Plus still is the history of Begram and the
treasure which it revealed in two hermetically sealed rooms (Ier
century a. J. - C.). The presentation of old Indian ivories, bowls in
Chinese lacquer, glassmaking of bronze or of plaster emblemata evoke
the ostentation of the court under the empire of Kouchans (Ier-IIIe
centuries). After “Afghanistan, a thousand-year-old history” presented
at the Guimet museum in March 2002, this second Parisian shutter of the
found (French) Treasury underlines the beauty and the originality of an
inheritance, between Indian world, Scythian world, China and the
Mediterranean. Afghanistan returns sadly in the topicality. Civil
violences quadrupled
in 2006 and one war opposes the forces talibanes and the Afghan army
supported by NATO. To move away from this climate than tended more, the
Guimet museum invites us to discover the treasures found over there, in
particular by the French archaeological Delegation in Afghanistan,
created in 1922. She revealed parts with influences as varied in time
as in space. The geography of the country points out the special place
to us which it occupies, between ancient Greece and old India and
China. Thus one begins the visit accomodated by a Corinthian capital,
further one finds Mercure, Zeus, Aphrodite and further still from the
Indian ivories. The exhibition is clearly divided between four
different
excavations and the parts presented are development in manner teaching,
locating as well the function, the utility, the time, the identity,
allowing a better comprehension
