This
is the third time that the City of the Music of Paris pays homage to an
idol of the popular music. One discovered Hendrix in 2002, Pink Floyd
in 2003. It is now the turn of John Lennon to be revisited by our
scientist musical village of La Villette. The most famous of
Beatles would be 65 years old this year. Mark Chapman
assassinated him just 25 years ago. Organized under the generous
eye of Yoko Ono, the widow of Lennon, ultimate protective of its
memory, the two stages of the exposure make us travel in this second
half of the XXth century, so dynamic and so dark at the same time,
through the ringed glasses of the type-setter author. Many
memories objects lent by Yoko Ono enhance the exhibition :
costumes, instruments, manuscripts, photographs. But the
exhibition is not only to be seen. Many concerts (Sonic Youth,
Bill Frisell), films, workshops (on the yellow submarine) rhythm the
event. A complete voyage in the surrealist universe, of love and
peace of one of the greatest musical legends of the XXth century.
