The Magritte Foundation decided to revisit Magritte of the small
images, flights, seized, with pen, and to build this exhibition on
paper work of the Belgian painter to the Maillol Museum. New
project after the great international retrospectives. All the
periods of the artist during his life, are found here through drawings,
gouaches, projects, letters, since its first dashes in publicity until
its smiling surrealisms. Some gouaches show us, more still
than
large oils, the extraordinary realistic dexterity of the
painter.
Several works carry in it, the absurd and poetic anachronism of its
daily phantasmagorias. Let us notice the Bleeding :
superb
small work where a table framed to us exhibe, in own way of work, the
brick of the wall which supports it, the whole surrounded by a
traditional wallpaper bourgeois. Magritte close, Magritte in his small
shoes.
