After two years of renovation, the Museum of Modern
art of the Town of Paris opens its doors again for the public.
Even if, seemingly, the aspect of this splendid museum did not change,
it were essential to carry out an in-depth restoration of the places.
This wing of the Palais of Tokyo shelters the collections of modern art
of Paris since 1961. During fifteen months, one carried out a
complete asbestos off like with a handing-over on level of the safety
requirements. 9 million euros was spent in this operation, under
the supervision of the American architect Patrick Rubin. The
modifications, not always perceptible for the visitor, brought hollow
joints to the ceiling, Japanese baffles on the walls, of false floors.
The Dufy Room was completely cleaned of asbestos, which obliged with
take off several hundreds of panels composing the immense fresco of the
Fairy Electricity. New lighting, new light.
