Born in 1886 in Paris, Robert Mallet Stevens follows studies to the
special School of architecture. He exposes his first projects in
1912 to the show of Autumn. In 1923, he elaborates its first
architectural realization for the villa of the Viscount of Noailles
with Hyères. The same year he imagines the
decorations of film the Inhuman one of Marcel Lherbier, with whom it
will collaborate regularly for the Giddiness. Follow the
construction of the castle of Paul Poiret in Mezy in Oise, the store of
Alfa-Romeo sale in Paris, the private mansion of Mrs. Collinet in
Boulogne Billancourt and the construction of the street
Mallet-Stevens in XVIème district of Paris. In 1925, it
takes part in the exposure of Déco Arts. Four years later,
it creates the Union of the Modern Artists who gathers the large
architects and designers of the time. It is one of the craftsmen
of the house of electricity and the light for the Exposure of Arts and
Techniques in 1937. Taken refuge during the war in the south with
its family, he dies in 1945.
